3350 KM
Father and daughter have been separated by 3,350 kilometres for seven years. He lives in Syria, she lives in exile in Paris. All they have left is to talk on the internet.
Treated like a black and white photo novel, this short film essay translates the uncomfortable situation, this in-between feeling after being in exile, it’s an inner trip on the line of being a “bad trip”. A walk within trying to find a way out. The work of this film was spontaneous and experimental, the specifics movement effect by using photography in video instead of filming directly aimes to express interruption, or a discontinuous line.
Back-And-Forth
The work was exhibited in Palais de Tokyo in Paris at the screening program “L’ami intérieur” (The friend within) conceived by Stéphanie Cottin at the invitation of the association Portes Ouvertes sur l’Art as part of the « 1002nd nights » of the exhibition « Scheherazade, at night ».
